If you’re wondering how to use scheduling, you’re in the right place. This step-by-step guide will walk you through how to create your posts on Flick and what happens when it’s time to post!

This article will help you create:

  • Instagram & Facebook Posts

  • Reels

  • TikTok's

  • LinkedIn posts

If you’re opening Flick’s post scheduler for the first time, you should see a blank calendar just asking for content to be scheduled into it.

Create Post

To create a post within the scheduler, navigate to the calendar and tap 'New Post.’ You can also drag a piece of content from the library into the calendar on the date you'd like the content scheduled for. This section runs through a static Instagram post, however, you can choose to post to Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok (continue reading for video content!)

From here, you can get to the good stuff, setting up your post! Once the 'New post' modal opens, you'll be able to create your full post including your caption, first comment, location tags and user tags as needed.

Once you’re happy with your caption, you can add your hashtags directly from any Collection you have created. Switch from ‘Post ‘Preview’ to ‘Hashtags’ on the right-hand side to access all your Collections and quickly add the hashtags to your caption or first comment.

If you want to tag specific users, simply click on the image in the Post Preview or the image under ‘Your Post’ to access user tagging. From here, simply search the Instagram handle of the user you’d like to tag.

Once you've set up your post, you can schedule your post or save it as a draft (drafts are useful if you don't have the content to publish yet and need a placeholder.)

Flick will show you the best times to post according to your account when you select a date and time for your content to be posted, and will notify you whether the post will be auto-published or scheduled via a push notification.

Creating Video-Reels and TikToks

Creating a video post follows the exact same logic as an image, except you’ll also have the ability to edit your thumbnail and trim your video to the right length. Here’s how:

  1. Upload your content or choose your file from the content selector

  2. Create your caption and add any relevant hashtags as needed

💡Pro-Tip: You can preview your content to see how it plays on TikTok or Instagram Reel by clicking the play button.

Thumbnails, Cropping and Video Trimming

All video content will be posted at 9:16 aspect ratio (mobile portrait.) However, if you do post landscape content, you may need to crop your content to fit.

Cropping, trimming and thumbnail selection can all be found from the edit button within your main post modal. You can choose a thumbnail from any frame of your video, or by uploading an image you'd like to use as your thumbnail.

Once you’ve finalized your content, if you’ve set a time and date, you’ll see this show on your calendar. If you’ve not set a date, you can save this to drafts.

If you decide you want to adjust or delete a post you’ve scheduled, you can click on the post in your calendar to do so.
