There are two types of TikTok accounts:

  1. Personal

  2. Business

‘Creator Accounts’ no longer exist on TikTok. These were phased out and converted to

Personal accounts back in August 2021. Personal Accounts act as ‘Creator’ Accounts.

Personal Accounts

There are two main benefits to using TikTok on a Personal Account:

1. Full access to the audio library

Personal accounts have full access to trending music and soundbites, which is something Business accounts are unable to access due to licensing rules.

2. Access to TikTok Creator Fund

If you have already joined the Creator Fund, it’s worth noting this is not available on Business accounts and switching is not recommended. The Creator Fund is available to those in the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy and allows users to monetize their content based on their reach and engagement.

Creators who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply to the Creator Fund:

  • Are at least 18 years old

  • Have at least 10,000 followers

  • Have at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days

  • Have an account that fits within TikTok’s Community Guidelines and terms of service

Business Accounts

We know Business accounts cannot access full media libraries or creator funds, however, if you are a brand, business, or organization seeking to build brand recognition or your goal is to drive sales or conversions, it’s worth switching to a Business Account. Here’s why:

1. TikTok Analytics

Business Accounts allow you to see much more in-depth data about your account performance compared to Personal accounts. This will help you drive content that is working as well as understand how users interact with your content, profile, and Live videos!

2. Access to Shopping and Bio Links

To use TikTok Shop, you will need to have a Business account. This is a huge benefit if you are actively selling or promoting your business on TikTok. Bio links are also only available on business accounts. If you want to drive users from TikTok to your website or other business funnels you’ll need to make a switch.*
Bio links are available to TikTok Business accounts with over 1000 followers

Automatic Posting

Currently, all TikTok accounts can access auto-post features available on Flick.
