This month marks Flick’s two year anniversary - I still can’t quite believe it! What started out as a side project with a handful of users is now a fully blown software with over 11,000 users, driven by our outstanding team.
In this blog post, we will be unveiling the exciting new features you can expect over the course of the next few months. Let’s get started!
Changes to Using Flick on the go
A couple of weeks ago, large improvements were made to our mobile app. This was the first step towards allowing users to fully manage their Instagram hashtags and analytics on the go. In the upcoming months, further improvements will be made, such as accessing detailed analytics on hashtag performance, which will help you optimize your Instagram strategy even further.
With such effort being put into our mobile app, the team also came to the decision to retire Flick’s mobile web view (using Flick’s desktop version on your mobile phone’s browser). First and foremost, almost all users who downloaded the app stopped using the web view.

Moreover, removing the web view will allow us to clean up our code-base and make Flick’s desktop version much faster for all of our users.
If you haven’t already, you can download our iOS and Android apps here.
Making Flick Smarter
This quarter we welcomed Ellis, our first data scientist to our team. With this hire, we hope to further improve Flick’s recommendation algorithm, metrics, and build a whole new set of features.
The new features currently being built aim to further personalize Flick for each user. This means bespoke hashtag recommendations based on hashtags stored in your Collections, past searches, and top-performing hashtags.
Every time you log back into Flick, you can soon expect Flick to have found new, highly relevant hashtags for you!
Our Analytics Suite has been out for just over 6 months now and has become one of the most-used features by our userbase. With that in mind, we will be devoting some time to improving our analytics.
The next 3 months will see brand new weekly reports, story analytics, and an updated hashtag insights page all being launched.

As you can see, we have an exciting few months ahead of us. Thank you again to all of our users for your ongoing support. A special thanks goes out to everyone who took time out of their day to provide feedback to our team - we would not have been able to build Flick into what it is today without you.
